GENOA SOCIAL FORUM

PUBLIC FORUM "ANOTHER WORLD IS POSSIBLE"

GSF: ON THE SUBSTANCE WE ALREADY WON

A "WORD AND IDEA SIEGE" FROM JULY 16TH TO 21ST

The Genoa Social Forum opens its initiatives of dissent to the summit and the G8 international policies on next Monday with the beginning of the Public Forum "Another word is possible". With an intense and diverse interesting program (5 plenary sessions, around 10 sessions on specific themes and many selfmanaged debates, more than 200 seminars among which more than 50 represented by associations and various nets from the South) the GSF is willing to launch an important message, critically analyzing the most important themes of the G8 Agenda.

"The Genoa mobilization against G8 sets itself inside that international movement that was born in Porto Alegre this last January with the "World Social Forum", says on behalf of GSF Raffaella Bolini, Arci international responsible, and Fabio Lucchesi, from the Lilliput Net National Secretary. A very important movement that is the real news in the international politics field, and that first dared to opposse the statement.according to which there are not alternatives to economic globalizations and marked dictatorship. The GSF is therefore nestled into a movement that not only contest the legitimm… of summits as the G8 one, and is not only, generically, "anti-globalization" but constructively work for building a globalization of justice, rights, solidarity, enviromental respect.

The Genoa Social Forum does not represent obviously the whole movement, and therefore it invited during the Public Forum many international representatives, expecially from the South, to discuss together on the alternatives perspectives to the "word of the Big Eight".
