Comunicare Genova
Go to the english version of this document

Communicating Genoa
The great protest against the G8 summit in Genoa is not only a fundamental release for the transnational networks which from Seattle to Porto Alegre to Mexico City are sying that "another world is possible", but also the place and time in which the movement against liberalism will have to gurantee for itself spaces for democracy and to assert an influential point of view. To do it, it should guarantee for itself free information, in order to communicate ideas and initiatives in a correct and exhaustive way. Antiliberal media of every type ? from printed paper to radios to websites to video operators, photographers ? and also many operators of mass media, hold the guarantee of free access to information during the days of the G8 to be indispensable. For this reason, the Genoa Social Forum, work/information group, asks all those people who agree with this and the inalienable right to broadcast the contents of the protest, to underwrite this "democratic agreement" to send to institutions so that they guarantee information for Genoa, the open city, against any form of discrimination and of unjustified arbitrary selectivity by the means and the journalists who are legitimised to make news.
